The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of primary health and community programs and has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.

This is a varied clinic based role that includes but is not limited too:

  • Administrative support, under the guidance of Director Health and Social Services (HSS), of key projects within the Social Services and Health Divisions, in planning, implementation and evaluation of projects.
  • Prepare business cases, funding applications, tender documentation, gantt charts and project plans.
  • Manages and facilitates the development of SWAMS operational planning frameworks.
  • Facilitates internal and external working groups as directed.
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to agreed implementation activities.
  • Assists HSS in the coordination of the development and implementation of reporting and evaluation processes for directorate.
  • Provide executive support to Director, HSS
  • Assist the Director, HSS with investigation of incidents and corrective actions.
  • Review tasks due and assist with updating outcomes, documentation and accreditation requirements
  • Review and update policies and procedures
  • Schedule appointments related to upcoming task

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration (or similar) or demonstrated business/ project administration experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an administration environment
  • Ability to organise specific projects meeting deadlines to high standards
  • High level of written communication, including briefs, report writing, letters and policies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to achieve high level customer service to internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people

Desirable Criteria

  • Aboriginality would be advantageous in this role but is not an essential requirement of the role
  • Experience in Sharepoint
