Form of workHumphris Nursery is a large, progressive wholesale nursery based in Mooroolbark with a team of 120+ staff across four production sites located in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.
Established in the 1850’s and cared for by 6 generations of the Humphris family, we’ve modernised and evolved into the market leader that we are today, something we’re incredibly proud of.
Due to business expansion, we are seeking an experienced Propagation Manager based at our Mooroolbark site. Humphris Nursery propagates and produces tissue culture in-house as well as buying in from external suppliers.
Working alongside the Tubing Manager, this role will oversee the Mother Stock and Propagation areas, work closely with the scheduling and tubing departments and answer directly to the Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Management of the mother stock program
- Oversee the production schedule to ensure volumes, timings and yield targets are achieved
- Required quality standards are met (internally produced and outsourced)
- Waste reduction
- Management of a propagation team including performance metrics / training / staffing levels / well-being and safety
- Ensuring an optimal growing environment
- Maintenance of growing facilities
- Hygiene program
- Prepare and analyse business metric reporting to track performance and make data driven decisions

- Have industry experience in a similar role (mandatory)
