Our shared vision at Burdekin is that we believe every young person has the right to a life that offers opportunities to fulfil their potential. We are a community-based not-for-profit organisation. We use innovative and industry-leading support practices to help guide young people aged 9-24 to fully functional adulthood. Our priority is to prevent youth homelessness and family breakdown by providing a range of accommodation, care and support services to young people and their families across Greater Sydney.

Your responsibilities will involve but not be limited to:
- Providing basic general maintenance repairs to our residential properties that house young people in our care
- Undertaking gardening and Maintenance tasks and general basic repairs to the property
- Co-ordinating deliveries with contractors and suppliers
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs
- Requesting quotes for any required trade work
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Responding to urgent work requests as required
- Furniture removalist duties and heavy lifting
- Data entry and processing of completed service reports
- Ensuring all WHS issues relating to maintenance are recorded in our property management system.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience as a Maintenance or Handyperson in residential homes, preferably in out of home care, aged care or similar sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with a wide range of clients and stakeholders, including the young people residing at the properties
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Current driver’s license and access to own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Willing to travel between numerous locations across Greater Sydney on a daily basis and sometimes at short notice
- Current working with Childrens Check and National Police Check or willing to obtain
