Trades Assistant/Water Asset Maintenance Worker

Randstad are looking for a Trades Assistant/Water Asset Maintenance Worker with Sydney Water Confined Space Ticket starting immediately for ongoing, full time work with a view of going temp to perm.Location: Depot is Seven Hills, travel to various sites from there.An exciting opportunity is available for individuals with the following qualifications to join our Tier 1 client responsible for maintaining Sydney Water Assets:Qualifications
Mandatory

• Valid Confined Space Ticket including rescue (Sydney water standard)
• Valid Working at Heights Ticket (within 2 years)
• Up to date Hepatitis A, B, and Tetanus Vaccinations
• Valid White Card

Highly Regarded

• Valid HR truck Drivers License
• Valid Yellow/Blue Traffic Control ticket (preferred)
• First Aid (Current)

Responsibilities
Workers will be involved in various tasks related to the maintenance of Sydney Water Assets. Training will be provided across different sections, including Silt and Debris, Clean Up,Closed Circuit Investigation, and Projects. As workers progress through each section, additional training and tickets will be provided. The assets include pipes, tanks, water treatment plants, effluent cleanup, and stormwater.Key Duties (section dependant):

• Completion of pre-start checks of trucks, vehicles, and equipment
• Operating vehicles/trucks, driving to and from the site
• Lifting of manhole lids, opening/closing hatches (some lids may weigh up to 40kg, requiring a 2-person lift occasionally)
• Use of shovels for cleaning up and racking
• Feeding rods, camera snakes through pipes
• Unreeling, lifting, moving, and using high-pressure jet hoses
• Emptying wet wells
• Setting up and using gas monitoring equipment
• Use of Working at Height harness
• Walking on uneven ground
• Working in confined spaces
• Ability to maintain a strong grip when using high-pressure hoses
• Mainly completing manual handling tasks to set up/pack down jobs/equipment
• Remote work/working away may be required

Work Schedule:

• Pay rate: $40 per hour + overtime at penalty rates
• Day shift: 12 hours, starting at 6 am
• Day will start at Seven Hills Depot and may involve travel to sites around Sydney in company vehicle
