The Real Estate practice group are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. Ideally bringing with them 3+ years’ legal administrative experience - if you offer Property / Real Estate experience that's an added bonus!
The firm is a well-recognised Commercial Law firm in the CBD providing high level legal services across commercial matters, litigation and dispute resolution.
The Team
The Real Estate team currently includes the Director, a Special Counsel, an Associate, a Lawyer, a Conveyancing Paralegal and another Personal Assistant, and you will be working with all members of the team. You must possess excellent communication and people skills as this role does require client contact in conveying communications to clients and taking enquiries.
Your Day | Your responsibilities
You will provide legal secretarial support across the practice group and will have the ability to manage workflows with competing time demands to ensure deadlines are met. This role is designed to support the legal teams with secretarial support as well as helping with general file management duties and other administrative tasks, including relief reception when required.
You can expect to be involved in all aspects of property and real estate. Although the authors in this team use voice recognition dictation when required or touch-type, there will still be typing and error correction as well as file opening, conveyancing files (including data entry of contract details) closing files and archiving, generating first and last letters, file management (electronic); diary management; compiling briefs; preparing documents from precedents; preparing monthly invoicing; liaising with clients and many other duties.
Your Skills
The successful applicant will be confident, resilient, organised and energetic and in addition, you will:
- Have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and clients
- High level of typing and documentation accuracy
- Have a typing speed of 65wpm with a high level of accuracy
- Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Have strong time management and organisation skills
- Have interests in and pursue goals outside of work
