The Opportunity
Xavier College is now in search of x3 Property Services – Grounds and Maintenance personnel to join an expanding team, working across the Gawler Belt, Two Wells and Evanston campuses, contributing to the ongoing development and Maintenance of grounds, facilities, plant and equipment.
As Property Services – Grounds and Maintenance you will:
- Perform routine gardening duties as per the College property and Maintenance schedule including, but not limited to:
- Trimming trees/shrubs
- Cutting lawns and edges
- Weeding
- Watering of gardens and plants
- Maintenance of sporting Grounds and gardens
- Operate and maintain ride on machinery used for grounds maintenance
- Perform maintenance of property, plant, furniture and equipment
- Assist trades personnel with manual duties
- Undertake repairs and Maintenance as per the College property and Maintenance schedule
- Maintain College grounds to an appropriate standard, supporting other Property Services team members
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have previous gardening/horticultural experience and/or qualifications
- Be an 'all-rounder' and a ‘team player’ with the ability to work independently
- Have the confidence to operate machinery and power tools to undertake required duties
- Hold a current South Australian drivers licence
- Think critically and creatively to solve problems, adapt to change and respond to demanding work with a positive attitude
- Have an ability to work autonomously to successfully achieve desired tasks within strict timelines, but also work collaboratively within a team environment
- Comprehend instructions quickly and respond appropriately
