Your Role:The primary purpose of this role covers the joint accountability with the Property Manager, A&NZ for the management of the A&NZ Property portfolio including the development and implementation of business strategies to achieve agreed planned growth and profitability targets. This position is a technical resource consulting to the business on the Property product lines.
Your Responsibilities:Achievement of the Budget
- Assist with the monitoring of production, profitability, new business and retention targets so as to ensure that the portfolio is performing as per expectations, and take action to address any current or potential risks to delivery of target results
- Ensure sustainable levels of profitability for the portfolio through the underwriting cycle
- Manage in cost effective way - focussing on expense efficiency
- Monitor and develop of the appropriate mix of products and distribution to achieve agreed strategic objectives
Underwriting Process / Analysis
- Work with the Property Manager, A&NZ to ensure that Property's underwriting practices meet Chubb's standards, through regular monitoring of underwriter performance and the proper implementation of peer review, underwriting audit and other quality control processes
- Ensure that the levels of intermediary and customer service provided by the Property team are in line with any agreed standards and support Chubb's reputation in the market as a professional and service-oriented company
- Contribute to the business goals in a cost effective and timely manner, implementing changes to business practices or procedures as necessary, whilst ensuring necessary risk management and compliance requirements are met
- Play a lead role in actively engaging both existing and prospective producers, clients and other relevant stakeholders to and promote Chubb's Property products and services
- Determine appropriate distribution channels and products to achieve desired growth and profit objectives
Qualifications:- University Degree in Business/Commerce or Insurance Studies to Senior Associate level or applicable tertiary qualifications and/or a desire to complete
- In-depth experience in underwriting and management as evidenced by 8 years or more insurance experience with specialisation in Property
- Proven analytical skills necessary to judge the desirability of complex or unusual risks within the Property portfolio
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, negotiation and decision making skills to be capable of dealing with and presenting to all levels of Chubb personnel as well producers and clients
- Strong producer/intermediary relationships in the insurance market and the ability to present marketing and educational presentations to producers
- Organisational capabilities to work independently and utilise appropriate automated tools with minimal administrative support
- Demonstrated skills in PC software, Excel, e-mail, Word and new software as it applies to the sales and underwriting function
- Ability to implement general business procedures and practices as evidenced by completion of a business related college curriculum, management training programs, or relevant business experience
