Job description

The role:

Coordinate the effective and efficient supply to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Operation suite of Prosthesis and Loan sets and responsible for the receipt, tracking, processing, and despatch of all loan instrumentation required for use in Perioperative Services. Implementing and maintaining all systems to coordinate prosthesis and rebatable consumables to ensure maximum revenue opportunities are captured for the RHH.

Royal Hobart Hospital

This position provides guidance in regard to information for the reprocessing and sterilisation of instrumentation within a high-pressure environment, within tight time frames, in order for elective and emergency surgical procedures to be completed, achieving positive patient outcomes. We are looking for a skilled technician, working autonomously with limited direction, possessing well-developed communication and problem-solving skills, who can actively manage conflicting priorities and make sound decisions within time-sensitive timeframes. This position provides information and liaise with specialty ANUM, company representatives and other stakeholders as necessary. The successful candidate must demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of customer service culture within a culturally diverse healthcare environment.

  • Responsible for receiving, tracking, preparing, and dispatching loan kits and prosthetics used within the Operating Room Suite.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to prosthesis coordination, including documentation, inventory management, and communication with suppliers.
  • Implement best practices, streamline processes, and ensure effective communication among team members.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 39 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $71,661 - $77,455 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Eligibility:

  1. Certificate III in Sterilising Services from an approved educational institution (HLT31107)
