- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Completion of minimum of 4 years clinical experience in an accredited training position in Anaesthesia recognised by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and successful completion of all elements of Advanced Training
- Success in the Final Fellowship examination of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists OR equivalent overseas
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal, appropriate for an Anaesthetist
- Demonstrated ability to function harmoniously, efficiently and effectively as part of high-performing team
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, and exercise initiative and judgment in prioritising time and resources
- Demonstrated commitment to scholarship, including learning and teaching, and an understanding of the role of the clinical review process, audit and research in anaesthesia
- An interest in a specific area of the specialty for further development
