Why Mental Health at Casey Hospital
Within our facility, we have the capacity for up to 5 High Dependency beds and an additional 5 designated beds for step-down, transitional care. This approach supports comprehensive discharge planning and community engagement before the eventual discharge of individuals. Consumers remain in the unit until they have reached a point in their recovery where effective and safe treatment in the community becomes viable. Our efforts are bolstered by a specialised multidisciplinary team, alongside comprehensive community mental health services, including Mental Health Hospital in the Home, and welfare support services. Working collaboratively, we offer a diverse range of therapeutic interventions and programs. These initiatives are not only available to consumers but also extend to their families, aiming to deepen their understanding of the impact of mental illness, explore effective management strategies, enhance coping mechanisms, and facilitate progress toward recovery.
