About your opportunity
Allied Health Service Division are currently seeking to recruit multiple casual Psychologists to join them at Townsville Hospital and Health Service. This position will be based at Townsville University Hospital.
The Psychology Service within Townsville University Hospital provides enhanced access for patients and access to psychological assessments and interventions that contribute to the patient's ongoing clinical management and care.
This position will Deliver best practice psychological (clinical, health, and psychometric) services to patients and their families in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary teams. You will manage an appropriate caseload using effective time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and the maintenance of accurate patient records and documentation.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated best practice clinical, health, and/or developmental psychology knowledge, expertise and skill.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, medical and nursing team, and other key stakeholders.
- Capability to provide leadership in psychology and clinical practice areas, contributing to improved clinical practice, the profession of psychology, and service delivery.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage children and their families, the multi-disciplinary team, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Generous Casual hourly rate of $44.01 to $64.69 p.a. (HP3)
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology, and be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA).
- Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- While not mandatory, a PsychBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology would be highly regarded, as would PsychBA approved Supervisor status.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
