Psychologist, Senior Psychologist - North Queensland Region

The Student Wellbeing Package will ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school.

Your Role:

The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students. This is a dynamic, school-based role and there are opportunities to provide service through a tele-practice mode and flexibility to working arrangements. Some of the positions bring opportunity for travel and outreach to rural and remote settings to support our most vulnerable communities in the North Queensland region.

As the Psychologist, you will:

• Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.
• Provide services such as assessment and therapeutic intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing. The opportunity to contribute and have influence on the development of a growing early-intervention service across the state.

Mandatory Requirements

• The possession of current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is required.
• When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services or an Exemption Card.
