Psychologist

Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is looking for an experienced Psychologist to provide a range of psychological services to contribute to the mental wellbeing of the local community. 

This position is being offered 1 day per week on either a subcontracting or employee basis.  

Although this is a non-identified role, we strongly encourage Aboriginal people to apply.

• Psychological assessments and treatment interventions
• Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of children and young people and adults including those with a disability
• Identification and diagnosis of mental, behavioural and emotional disorders
• Participation in research
• Contribution to the ongoing function of the Ungooroo team
• Staff training as required

• Ability to work within a team
• Commitment to the delivery of psychological services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Demonstrated person-focused approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Be always well-presented, friendly and courteous
• Professional presentation and positive attitude

• General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and be registered with AHPRA
• Professional indemnity insurance
• Eligibility for Medicare Provider Number
• Experience providing psychological supports to Aboriginal people or experience working within Aboriginal communities
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with the community, patients and staff members
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and a demonstrated understanding of medical software
• Applicants will be subject to a Working with Children Check and a Criminal History Check
