Oasis Youth Services provides support to young people in the Central Coast and Newcastle regions aged 12 to 25 years dealing with alcohol and other drugs (AOD) issues. About the role We are seeking a values-driven Psychologist for the Oasis Drug and Alcohol Youth Support program which provides counselling and psychoeducation to young people aged between 12-24 within the Hunter Region.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, part-time (22.8 hours per week) position based in Hamilton, NSW. The successful applicant will be required to travel around the region at times. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Health Professionals Award Level 3.

You will successfully Provide assessment and evidence-based treatment, counselling and support to young people experiencing substance use disorder or problematic AOD usage. Provide individual and group psychoeducation. Provide accessible information to clients, family, and other service providers about the service.

Demonstrate critical thinking and reflective practice skills. Adhere to a range of legislation and guidelines. Support other members of the team to achieve shared goals Provide culturally responsive support to diverse groups.

Work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have A Bachelor level degree in psychology, or higher. Current registration with AHPRA (general or provisional).

Experience working in the areas of addiction, or alcohol & other drugs (preferred). A current and valid Working with Children Check is required.

Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one. A current NSW drivers’ licence.
