We at Open Pantry Consulting are excited to partner with the Criterion Hotel to recruit for this pivotal role. The Criterion Hotel is a family-friendly venue with a rich history dating back to 1847. The venue is an iconic establishment in Gundagai, offering a warm welcome, quality dining, accommodation, a bottleshop, gaming machines, and a lively pub atmosphere. Originally built in 1859, the hotel combines old-world charm with modern amenities to create a truly unique guest experience.
The Role We're Recruiting For:
As the General Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring the highest standards of service. You'll play a key role in maintaining the hotel's reputation and contributing to its growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations, ensuring excellence in service
- Lead and develop the team, fostering a positive work culture
- Financial management, including budgeting and cost control
- Uphold the hotel's reputation for quality and hospitality
- Ensure compliance with regulations and licensing requirements
- Represent the hotel within the Gundagai community
- Contribute to marketing efforts and guest experience enhancements
- Proven hospitality management experience, preferably in a regional hotel
- Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities
- Strong financial/business acumen and budget management skills
- Flexibility to work weekends/evenings as required
- Excellent communication and guest relations skills
