- Provision of expert advice and support to health care professionals and the public on Communicable Disease control.
- Participation in and supporting enhanced surveillance and investigation of notifiable and non-notifiable diseases in accordance with national and state guidelines.
- Investigation and management of outbreaks in childcare centres, residential aged care facilities and other agencies as required.
- Delivery of education programs to key stakeholders in the Sunshine Coast Health region.
- Be the clinical resource for Clinical Nurses within Communicable Disease, regarding complicated Public Health follow-up, conditions involving complex health needs such as pregnancy, immunodeficiency/suppression.
- Maintain data integrity and confidentiality of Queensland Health Notifiable Conditions Systems (NOCS) and Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
