Eligibility: Open to EveryoneWe have an opportunity for two Public Information Officers (Fruit Fly) to be part of our Industry, Strategy and Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.The Public Information Officer reports to the Communications Lead Fruit Fly Response Program, providing high-level communications for the Program. The Public Information Officer is an experienced all-rounder and is responsible for developing and delivering detailed communications plans and activities that deliver best-practice and innovative communication and digital services to achieve the Response Program’s goals.Working under minimal direction in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Public Information Officer is responsible for ensuring that the most appropriate communications activities achieve optimal outcomes and align to the strategic priorities of the government and the department.This role is focused on the planning, development, implementation and coordination of effective communication plans and activities, requiring effective engagement with diverse stakeholders. Possessing exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a creative flair to ensure engaging communications reach intended audiences, you are expected to provide sound advice on communication planning and contribute to the development of new communication techniques and methodologies.About UsSouth Australia is internationally recognised for the quality of its agriculture, food, and wine. Requirements
  • Possession of a current driver’s licence.
  • Out of hours work will be, and inter / intrastate travel may be, required.
  • You acknowledge your and our expectations.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
