The position
Elevate the World Vision Australia (WVA) brand to the Australian community through earned media, ambassadors, influencers and socials, creating narratives that guide and build our brand story.
You will support existing PR and ambassador campaigns, while having a key role in developing and implementing new initiatives and influencer partnerships, aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
You are inspired to learn every day and thrive on variety, bringing to the table your broad communications prowess and new ideas. You keep abreast the Australian celebrity and influencer scene, researching and pitching ambassadors for campaigns and brand partnership opportunities.
Your areas of responsibility:
- Deliver considered communications advice and execution with a focus on proactive media relations
- Build strong and trusted relationships, you relish the opportunity to advise key stakeholders in the creative development and execution of communications strategies to promote WVA’s reputation, working closely with Marketing peers to inform and amplify campaigns
- You’re excited about emerging trends and media, so pay close attention to what new communications tools are being applied by other organisation and consider how you can bring these to life at WVA
- Trusted relationships with media are critical for success in this role, so you will spend considerable time on building and nurturing media contacts across Australia
- Identifying, negotiating and leading strategic partnerships with Goodwill Ambassadors and Influencers that enable World Vision to extend its brand reach and connect with core segments
- Take a strategic approach to these partnerships and undertake an annual review and assessment of their individual impact to World Vision Australia
- Use your PR experience to ensure Goodwill ambassador partnerships are leveraged in earned media, aligned to WVA strategic objectives
- Establish, manage and maintain relationships with external key media, ambassadors and talent managers
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is connected in entertainment. You will have experience with influencers, socials, Tik Tok, sport and Australian popular culture. You will be aware and up to date with Australia`s influencer scene.
You will:
- Have 3-5 years’ experience in a communications, Public Relations, journalism or talent management role within a large organisation
- Have Not for Profit experience (preferred but not essential)
- Have Experience working within matrix structure
- Be competent in media monitoring and journalist database programs, like Meltwater and Telum
- Be a confident writer and grasp new and emerging social media
- Have good knowledge of influencer marketing and tools
- Have relevant qualifications and experience in journalism, communication, Public Relations, marketing or related field
