PURCHASING OFFICER
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Procurement Team. The role mainly consists of office-based work raising purchase orders and processing goods receipts within the Finance System.
What will you be doing:
- Receive purchase order requests, clarify requirements, and raise purchase orders
- Liaise with suppliers to coordinate orders.
- Process goods receipts promptly and accurately.
- Respond to simple internal and external enquiries. More complex/sensitive matters are to be escalated.
- Participate in testing and implementation of new processes, systems, and tools.
- Liaise with staff to ensure a clear understanding of their purchase requirements and confirm receipt of goods/services
- Compliance with procurement policy and framework
- Respond promptly to purchasing enquires
What we require from you:
Qualifications and experience
- Previous experience in an administration, purchasing or accounts payable team would be highly regarded but is not essential
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- A current driver’s licence
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- High level of accuracy in data entry
- Understanding of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental principles.
