Last mined by Norgold in the late 1980’s and following extensive resource definition drilling from 2017, a successful PFS and DFS was achieved. The appointment last year of GR Engineering Services as the EPC contractor, saw the project completion of the construction of a 1.2 - 1.5M TPA CIL gold plant. Successful mining and production have been running for approximately the last 12 months.

About the role
This fulltime role is based at Head Office in West Perth and is part of the finance team. The key purpose of this position is to co-ordinate the purchasing process from supplier identification, invoicing and purchasing controls, as well as supplier relationship management. Ensuring the timely approval and receipting, delivery of goods and materials, mitigating risks and optimising the procurement processes to support the organisation’s objectives.
Specific Duties and responsibilities
- Minimise the potential of mining and processing downtime by facilitating stock levels of critical spares and consumables to ensure availability when required.
- Raising purchase orders for materials/equipment required on site.
- Receipting against purchase orders.
- Ensure timely and accurate administration and maintenance of purchasing services, as well as workload management of the storage areas and purchasing’s needs.
- Ensure delivery services and operational spare parts procurement.
- Develop strong, customer focused relationships with key stakeholders.
- Negotiation of pricing agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives,
- Provide authoritative, tailored advice and assistance to onsite staff.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operational mangers to establish short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Maximise communication within the group with due consideration of key issues.
- Maintain supplier records, review and monitor supplies and supplier performance.
- Analyse usage trends and patterns and generate reports to inform planning and purchasing decision making.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, and business policy, procedures and standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma of Supply Chain Management or equivalent (highly regarded).
- Minimum (3+ years’) experience as a Purchasing officer and/or a similar type of role.
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and suppliers, along with the capability to clearly present information that is appropriately targeted to the audience.
- A high level of computer literacy, including experience using a purchasing and inventory management system; Pronto ERP system (highly regarded).
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to identify errors and issues and develop effective and evidence-based solutions to problems, including the ability to interpret data and identify evolving trends/issues.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Current national police clearance.
- Current and valid driver's licence.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen.
