About the opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and board, this strategic leadership position offers a rare opportunity to shape and develop your own role and team and be a part of a real success story in a business that will continue to grow rapidly over the next five years.
As an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will have the opportunity to join a successful, fast-growing, privately owned business in the civil contracting industry. You will establish the CFO function in-house and oversee a capable and committed finance team to elevate their systems, process, data and reporting to enable the business to make strategic and timely decisions. Your depth of knowledge and experience and passion for partnering and supporting the leaders and Board will ensure the company continues to grow and exceeds its goals.
About You
You are an experienced Chief Financial Officer that has ideally worked within the Civil Contracting or Construction industry. You will have worked with companies in the $100m to $500m revenue space that have managed multiple projects at any one time in geographically dispersed locations.
You have demonstrated experience in ownership of the finance function, managing a team and creating a cohesive culture. You are known for your people skills, ability to motivate and hold people to account as well as coach and develop others. You have a well-developed understanding of implementation and execution strategies to grow and drive business results and can translate numbers into outcomes and activities. You enjoy ensuring monthly and Board reports are clear, timely and accurate. You have led reviews of systems, processes and platforms to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- CPA or CA qualified.
- Experience and/or understanding of civil construction / building or similar ERP system.
- Hands on strategic leader.
- High energy, driven but also humble and down to earth.
- Quick thinking and ‘on the ball’.
- Efficient and effective.
- Enjoys creating and streamlining best practice systems and processes to ensure great outcomes.
