Safety Officer (Part-Time) | Warehousing & Supply Chain

This is a rare opportunity to join the Perth-based headquarters for a growing, dynamic company that is listed on the ASX and has national operations.

The role is part-time, 1 - 2 days per week based in a pleasant professional work environment in Canning Vale.

About the Role

Work with  the national team to safeguard our clients' vision of a secure and compliant work environment. By ensuring adherence to safety regulations, the Safety Officer will play a pivotal role in cultivating a workplace where every employee can thrive with confidence.

What you’ll be doing:

• Safety Compliance Oversight: Regularly conduct safety inspections, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Incident Investigation and Resolution: Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Documentation and Manual Maintenance: Keep meticulous records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions. Review and update the company's safety manual as necessary, ensuring clarity and relevance in safety procedures.
• Collaborative Safety Management: Collaborate with department heads to address specific safety concerns, ensuring a unified approach to workplace safety. Participate in safety committee meetings, providing valuable insights to align safety efforts with the broader company strategy.
• Crafting Effective Training Programs: Develop, implement, and rejuvenate dynamic safety training programs for employees. Actively guide and support employees to ensure the practical application of safety practices.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer or related role.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and proactively identify potential issues.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with Warehousing is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
