YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all procurement related activities and projects including all aspects related to materials and vendors relating to trade procurement, whilst acting as the central point of contact for all purchasing tasks for all traded materials in Australia.
Provide best practice procurement support, while developing collaborative relationships with all stakeholders as part of Brenntag's continuous improvement policies.
- Along with the Planning and Purchasing Manager to integrate and be responsible for the trade materials that have come across from Ravenswood Ingredients.
- Conduct Team Lead activities and procurement tasks for 3-5 suppliers
- To assist the Procurement team in times of absence and high workload.
- Be the first point of contact/escalation for the Purchasing Team for daily tasks
- Provide leadership, mentoring and develop a customer focused team of purchasing officers in collaboration with the Planning & Purchasing Manager ANZ
- Consistently demonstrate and reinforce Brenntag Values and expected behaviors through exemplary standard setting.
- Lead by example to provide a problem solving, solution-based approach to issue resolution
- Arrange regular catch ups with the team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training required to perform their roles and responsibilities
- Coordinate daily tasks, rosters and workloads
- Identify and assist in the implementation of process improvement opportunities in collaboration with Management
- Actively participate in the annual Performance, Planning & Review Process (PPM), establishing invidual KPIs and monitoring performance to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved
- Take ownership of learning and development opportunities by creating an Individual Developmnet Plan (IDP), strengthening personal and professional development
- Perform other such duties and activities which may be assigned to you from time to time.
- Lead the team to ensure all Procurement KPIs are understood and achieved
- Receive and process purchase orders from the relevant requisition process, ensuring that required Vendor, product, quantity, and pricing are correctly entered into BT Source portal or SAP
- Liaise with Product Managers and Demand Planner should discrepancies arise
- Prompt processing of all shipping documentation and relevant chase up of missing documents - 7 days before shipment lands In port
- Prepare inbound delivery requests with correct order information and communicate with third-party logistics providers to authorise receipt of goods, ensuring requests are processed promptly and accurately through confirmation of receipt, provision of Certificates of Analysis and obtaining signed proof of delivery forms from the store where required
- Ensure timely receipt of all inbound inventory by the 3PL Warehouse and escalate accordingly if goods receipted is not met within 24 hours
- Conduct manual good receipts for all Back-to-back Direct Purchase Orders sent to Customers
- Monitor and control purchase orders ensuring a continuous workflow of documentation and complete internal/external customer satisfaction
- Ensure purchase order processes and procedures are followed consistently
- Update Purchase Requsition/Purchase Orders with delivery ETA/ATD/ATA and vendor pricing when required
YOUR PROFILE
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain/Purchasing/Logistics/Planning or similar discipline combined with prior experience in a similar role
- 3-4 years' experience in a purchasing/planning/shipping/logistics role
- Experience in distribution, chemical or other similar industry advantageous
- Working knowledge of SAP and reputable ERP systems including in-depth understanding of purchase order, planning, logistics and warehousing systems essential
