Bakery & Quality Control Assistant
Job Description:
This position will assist our production team and our Quality Assurance Manager with the day-to-day Food Safety requirements of a mid-size bakery operation in Osborne Park. The candidate will work in the production room assisting the packing and baking team, monitoring food safety procedures and documentation, and assisting with compliance of HACCP and GMP.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Completing the daily batch weigh-ups as per the product recipe
- Completing the traceability records for the relevant ingredients used
- Conduct pre-op cleaning checks of the facility
- Assist with enforcing food safety programs and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Assist with preparation for food safety audits
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties as required by Management.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Skills:
- Must be able to perform basic computer tasks including MS Office
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in English reading and writing
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience in quality control in a production facility
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be familiar with HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices
- May be requested to obtain certification for fork lifts.
- Must be flexible with work hours and able to work weekends or holidays if required
