We are a leading structural steel fabrication and erection company seeking a highly skilled industry specific Welding Coordinatort to join our expert team at our premises of 1100sqm in the heart of western Sydney. We are a reputable name in the industry and certified to ISO IMS, welding standards 3834-2, fabrication standards 5131-CC2, and others. With these and other resources including a CNC beamline, 30T Crane, truck and more, we service tier one infrastructure companies, working on power stations, mining structures, warehouses, Badgerys Creek airport and other critical steel projects in Sydney. As a Welding Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic initiatives, ensuring project success, and contributing to the continued growth and success of our organization.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferable
- Cert 10 or AS 2214 CERTIFICATE a must
- Qualification in NDT Level II according to ISO 9712 or inspection (CSWIP or IWI is an advantage
- Demonstrated knowledge in implementing ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in welding and steel fabrication
- Current valid Driver’s license
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain welding and quality documents
- Strong focus on safety in the workplace
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ensure to meet the requirements of ISO 14731.
- Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
- Inspect, test, or measure dimensions of materials or products being produced.
- Prepare non-conformance reports for inspection and test data.
- Perform visual inspections on welded products and structures in progress and on completed jobs.
- Issue relevant Quality Records when necessary
- Assist with the preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s)
- Verify parent material against documentation and markings
- Prepare and set up NDT Testing Division for Clients
- Evaluate and prepare inspection reports
