About this Role
Your role will include general accounting, taxation, business advice and other requirements within your portfolio. You'll manage stakeholders, work with clients and provide great advice.
In this role you'll get to experience working with a diverse and interesting range of clients and industries, using your broad knowledge to support a range of sole-traders, non-profits, small business and large companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients including start-ups of various sizes and industries and established SMEs
- Liaise directly with clients in a business advisory role
- Income Tax Returns, Company Tax Returns, Trust Returns
- Prepare and lodge QBCC MFR and annual reporting requirements
- Business Activity Statements
- Report & lodge superannuation through Xero/Portal
- Complete work including restructuring and complex tax planning and some tax advice
- Liaise with lawyers, R&D tax adviser and other industry specialists to get the best advice for clients
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualifications in Accounting
- Public practice experience preferred
- Understanding of the Australian accounting system
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build relationships
- Ability to manage the end to end client process confidently
- Experience with Xero and XPM, Karbon & BGL ideal (or ability to pick up new systems quickly)
- Understanding of QBCC requirements (or willing to learn how to lodge reports for our construction industry clients)
- Confidence working autonomously as well as being an active member of the team
- A positive mindset and a willingness to learn and grow
- Resilient with an ability to show initiative and problem solve when needed
