An opportunity exists for a passionate Chef.
The full time position is in a modern Hotel Bistro - reporting to the Head Chef.
We are looking for someone who is creative, organised, passionate and experienced in multi-cuisine.
The job description for chef is as follows and it is not an exhaustive list:
- Menu planning, estimating food and labour costs.
- Preparing and cooking menu items.
- Training and supervision of apprentices and less experienced staff.
- Adhering to, explaining and enforcing of hygiene regulations.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Delegation of tasks to other team members.
- Supervise Cooks and assist as needed.
- Monitor food stock and place orders.
Requirements:
- Qualifications in commercial cookery (Cert IV or higher)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the commercial kitchen
- Flexible availability
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
- Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements
- Experienced in multi-cuisine.
