We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mechanic to join our team. As a mechanic, you play a crucial role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks. Your expertise ensures that these vehicles operate efficiently and safely. Responsibilities:
Inspect and Diagnose: You’ll inspect machines, engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components to identify functionality issues. Running diagnostic tests is essential to discover any problems.
Repairs and Maintenance: Conduct repairs with the goal of achieving maximum reliability. Whether it’s fixing a faulty engine, replacing worn-out parts, or addressing electrical issues, your expertise keeps vehicles running smoothly. Keeping records of all maintenance and repairs performed,
Assembly and Building: Assemble and build machines or mechanical components according to requirements. Your attention to detail ensures that everything fits together seamlessly.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle issues and provide clear explanations of necessary repairs. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
Electrical Work: Repair and replace electrical components, wiring, and diagnose electrical faults. Your knowledge of electrical systems is critical.
Tire Maintenance: Maintain and repair braking systems, including tire replacement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification from a technical or vocational school in automotive repair
- At least 5 years of experience post apprenticeship working as a mechanic
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Experience: A fully qualified mechanic typically has several years of experience working with vehicles. This experience helps you handle a wide range of repair tasks confidently.
Certifications: Minimum Cert III in Light Vehicle Automotive, depending on your specialisation (e.g., automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment), relevant certifications are required. Any additional Certificates held will be recognised but not required.
Technical Skills: excellence in using diagnostic tools and specialty equipment specific to the automotive industry. This includes diagnostic tools, lifts, and other machinery.
Problem-Solving: our technicians often encounter complex diagnostic faults. Your ability to analyze problems and find effective solutions is crucial.
Attention to Detail: Precision matters when assembling components or diagnosing problems. A meticulous approach ensures quality work.
Safety Awareness: Mechanics work with potentially hazardous equipment. Understanding safety protocols and following them diligently is essential.
Additional Information:
- Location: Mechanics typically work in garages or workshops, often indoors. We also have a Mobile mechanic that works onsite.
