Primary Objectives
Support Workers are key members of the Community Care services team and will share knowledge and experience to assist in the support of aged care and disability clients. Support Workers will deliver high quality services to clients through:
- Social Supports and accessing the community.
- Medication assistance and health support including accessing medical services.
- Personal Care and supporting clients to maintain personal hygiene and grooming.
- Domestic assistance and general household duties
- Support and empower clients to achieve their personal goals
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III or higher in a relevant qualification with a minimum of 12 months industry experience
- HLTHPS006 – Assist Clients with Medication Skill set
- Knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the work in this level.
- Current C or CA class Driver’s license (QLD)
- Mandatory - Current First Aid & CPR

- Previous experience of working with culturally diverse clients.
- Experience in client focused roles.
- Ability to adapt communication to individual client needs
- Ability to recognize risks and incidents, react appropriately and report accurately.
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
This position requires the completion of an Australian Federal Police check, a NDIS disability worker screening check, and attainment of a Blue Card for working with children, prior to commencement.
