What you'll be doing
The Kids Cancer Centre (KCC) is one of the largest pediatric cancer centers in Australia. We are a large multi-disciplinary department within Sydney Children’s Hospital with internationally respected programs in translational medicine, clinical trials, transplantation & cellular therapy, and neuro-oncology care. 

The purpose of the Quality and Process Improvement Lead is to improve patient outcomes by implementing a rigorous process of quality improvement across the department according to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. The position will support and guide teams within the KCC undertaking improvement projects. They will provide education, training and mentorship to build capacity and capability for staff in Quality and continuous improvement methodology. 

  1. A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Thorough understanding of quality improvement principles in the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and demonstrated experience in applying quality improvement methodology
  3. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex, detailed and innovative strategies in a coherent manner
  4. Ability to undertake project planning, implementation and evaluation
  5. Highly developed strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated strength in solving patient and staff concerns
  6. Demonstrated effective planning and organising skills in a high-volume work environment with the ability to deliver multiple outcomes, make complex judgements and take initiative within delegated responsibilities and timeframes
  7. Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively with a range of clinicians and non-clinicians

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
