Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager, the Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our food products meet the established standards of quality and food safety set by Clean Seas and the regulatory authorities.
The successful applicant will have been trained in food safety, HACCP and GMP with a proven background in the FMCG industry. The role supports the QA & Compliance Manager to evaluate and control all stages of the food production process and monitor the performance of Quality Assurance systems.
This is a hands-on position conducting food product Quality Assurance testing and compiling daily production reports. The QA Coordinator is responsible for conducting environmental audits to ensure a high level of cleanliness to meet GMP standards and assist with on-site audits conducted by external providers. You will also support and coach the processing team operators to actively participate in the quality process to produce the best possible products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to build relationships with all stakeholders and effectively train and coach employees on the production line. Strong organisational skills are required together with the ability to problem solve, determine priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Key requirements:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Food Safety preferred;
- Food safety knowledge and experience in a quality role in a production environment;
- Previous Seafood Processing experience will be highly regarded;
- FMCG industry experience and knowledge;
- Food safety training in HACCP and GMP;
- Experience in FSSC 22000, SQF, BRC an advantage;
- Experience implementing company processes and policies;
- Strong ability to actively identify and develop improvement opportunities;
- Ability to ensure compliance with Clean Seas WHS policies and procedures;
- Experience conducting Quality Assurance audits;
- Able to work in a team-based environment;
- High level written and verbal skills;
- Sound training and coaching skills;
- Strong influence and relationship/stakeholder management skills;
