The Role:
This role is based on site in Howlong NSW in the Albury/Wodonga region.
Reporting to the QA and R&D Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager is a business critical role, you will oversee all Quality functions and work closely with Production and R&D. You will guide the business and our internal teams to ensure MRPF maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance in pet food production. The position will foster continuous improvement and take the lead for our annual audits, reporting and compliance to ensure we maintain all our accreditations whilst driving the quality culture within the business.
Duties include:
- Manage the ongoing development and implementation of the site quality management systems in collaboration with internal teams
- First of point of contact for Quality issues for customers including Woolworths and Coles
- Ensure company compliance with all relevant quality, food safety, and legislative requirements
- Provide strong leadership, training and coaching support to the quality and production teams, promoting a strong food safety culture across the company
- Ensure all QA practices, governance and frameworks are being adhered to
- Drive GMP and SQF standards across the business
- Manage all food safety certification programs and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with current and new food legislative requirements – PFIAA
- Strengthen cross functional communication and collaboration to set priorities, work through barriers and present recommendations to ensure the ongoing success of the QA function
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the Pet Food, Food Manufacturing or FMCG environment in Quality field
- Strong understanding of Food Safety and Quality Assurance practices
- An excellent understanding of all food safety regulatory standards with an in-depth knowledge GMP and HACCP standards
- Proven ability to manage an external audit
- Sound computer skill including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels within the organisation and ability to work collaboratively with Managers and Supervisors to conduct QA investigations
