Position Purpose
The Quality Assurance Manager/Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that both raw ingredients and finished goods meet the established quality and safety specifications set by the company, as well as the regulatory and compliance requirements to maintain HACCP and Organic certification.
This person is responsible for the continued implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), including the development of new procedures, continuous improvement of existing systems, as well as Quality Control inspection activities, detection and resolution of product quality issues and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes.
It is the responsibility of the Quality Technician/Compliance Manager to identify and apply corrective actions, with a focus on continuous product improvement and maintaining a culture of accountability. An additional requirement of this role is the maintenance and implementation of an internal Pharmacovigilance (PV) system to meet TGA requirements and ensure the safety of all listed complementary medicine products.

Key Accountabilities
- Implement internal quality procedures and processes according to the QMS and PV systems and contribute to continual improvement of both
- Work closely with approved external providers and suppliers to ensure product quality and safety is maintained and continuously improved
- Conduct & participate in internal and third-party audits
- Maintain, implement and continually review the organisation’s HACCP plan and maintain HACCP certification
- Maintain, implement and continually review the organisation’s Organic Management Plan (OMP) and maintain organic certification
- Schedule & interpret laboratory testing as needed ensuring product conformance to specifications
- Investigate, record and resolve product quality and safety issues with regards to both food and complementary medicine
- Identify and record non-conforming product, root cause and implement corrective actions
- Lead and coordinate a capable Operations team in the event of a product recall
- Executes & coordinates aspects of the Company’s ESG agenda
- Identify, implement and record staff training to ensure compliance with HACCP, organic certification and PV requirements
- Assist sales staff with product quality and technical documentation
- Provide ongoing support to all functions of the business as required
- Prepare product technical documents in accordance with the Food Standards and Therapeutic Goods Association Codes
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Production staff to ensure the implementation of GMP and internal quality systems
- Implement and interpret stability testing for product shelf life validation

Experience and other role requirements
- 4 years minimum experience in a Quality Assurance / Compliance role
- Must have Food Manufacturing/FMCG/Food service experience and knowledge
- Knowledge or experience with PV preferred
- Good computer skills and proficient in Google Suite extensions
- Role is office based (South Murwillumbah) with an ability to work from home (deep work) on certain days
