Quality Assurance Technician

A Tassie icon, J Boag and Son Brewing (Boags) has been producing its brews steeped in the rich history of the land it calls home.

Supporting to ensure each of our products meets the high standards expected, our Quality Team analyses sensory characteristics, raw ingredient and in-process beer quality, and key chemical and microbiological parameters to ensure each brew is consistent and of the highest quality. We are now on the hunt for a Quality Assurance Technician to join this talented team. 

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, you will bring with your knowledge and skill in quality and manufacturing to ensure the best-known ways are maintained in ingredient and product quality assessments, beer flavour profiling, and product composition and microbiological testing. Working batch to batch you will utilise your analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively act on results and support with investigations as they arise.

This role is predominantly day shift Monday through Friday with some weekend work required. This role will be based on-site at the Boags Brewery in Launceston and is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

Some of the things you’ll be doing in the role:

• Support with end-to-end batch testing to ensure product consistency
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of QA equipment across the site
• Investigate quality-related complaints to provide a resolution
• Complete all relevant QA administration
• Be involved in new product initiatives to ensure on-time delivery

Some of the skills you will bring:

• Previous experience in Quality Assurance procedures and processes in FMCG
• Exposure to manufacturing processes
• Resilience to engage with stakeholders and bringing people on a journey
• Experience chemical and microbiological laboratory work
• Experience in the sensory analysis is desirable
• Science qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating scientific knowledge and learning agility
