About North East Link –

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an immediate start Quality Cage Inspector/Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to inspect, analyze, and enhance our products, ensuring they meet and exceed industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of manufactured products, utilizing your keen eye for detail to identify defects, deviations, and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to monitor processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection procedures, reports, and quality assurance records.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to provide input during the product development stage to ensure manufacturability and quality considerations are incorporated.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting innovative ideas and solutions to enhance overall manufacturing operations.
  • Drive between two manufacturing facilities to ensure cages are of high quality ready for installation at our Bullen site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in [relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance] or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have Level 10 certificate Welding
  • Proven experience in quality control, quality assurance, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools, gauges, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey technical information to cross-functional teams.
