Quality Control Attendant
As a Quality Control Attendant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our oyster farm's operations by conducting routine inspections, collecting samples, and performing basic analyses to uphold product quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Follow procedures diligently to ensure compliance with company protocols and industry regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of oyster farming operations to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Collect samples of oysters and surrounding water for analysis, performing basic tests to assess product quality.
- Accurately document inspection results, sample analyses, and any deviations from established standards.
- Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, including farm management and production teams, to facilitate corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards showing initiative in addressing day-to-day challenges, actively seeking out solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Approach tasks with a "Can Do" attitude, showing initiative and enthusiasm for maintaining high standards of quality and safety while assisting in the implementation of Quality Control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience in aquaculture, fisheries, marine biology or related field is preferred but not required.
- Possess or be willing to obtain a Coxswains 3 or above ticket, which is advantageous for certain aspects of the role.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures accurately.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and collaborate with team members.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to strenuous physical exertion.
- Work comfortably outdoors, adapting to varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
- Basic computer skills knowledge highly desirable.
- Uphold a strong work ethic to support intensive farming methods and ensure consistent quality.
- Motivated and proactive approach to work, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the team.

LOCATIONS
Angel Seafood runs multi-bay operations across the Eyre Peninsula. Our site in Cowell is home for our spat nursery and year old juvenile stock before they are shipped out to our grow-out site at Haslam (near Streaky Bay), or onto Coffin Bay our finishing site.
The chosen candidate is going to work in Coffin Bay.

Remuneration will be dependent on the role you take and reflect the skills and experience you bring to the company, with opportunities for training and career development in the Aquaculture Industry.
