Quality Control Manager

Join Essity Australasia, a global leader in health & hygiene products, as a Quality Control Manager. This role is pivotal in improving product quality, machine efficiency, and production surety through the management and enhancement of raw material quality and QC production control.

About the Role

As a Quality Control Manager, you will work with both internal and external suppliers to enhance the quality of existing and new materials. Your goal is to optimize Essity Australasia’s finished goods quality and machine efficiency. This includes monitoring supplier quality, addressing problems raised by supervisors and production managers, raising SCARS, holding supplier meetings, and training claims.

What You Will Do

Supplier Management

Assess and implement new material suppliers

  • Develop and qualify new suppliers to provide alternate supply options to the business.  

  • Reduce the frequency of raw material issues  

  • SCARS process is managed effectively  

  • Meet with suppliers to improve their performance  

Quality Control Management

QC management, reporting, and subsequent analysis

  • Ensure on-time and ongoing QC occurs

  • Ensure all checks and reporting is done on time 

  • Ensure QC techniques are world-class and best practice.

  • Management of QC technician and subsequent work

Leadership

Be a part of the site leadership team

  • Help lead the site to constant improvement

  • Take a proactive commitment to safety, health, well-being, and the environment.

  • Ensure compliance with site, company, and statutory requirements.

  • Drive improvements in systems, processes, and equipment.

  • Contribute to the implementation of the site safety strategy.

  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture.

Who You Are
  • Possess a degree in Engineering, with a focus on Chemical or Materials disciplines.

  • Experience in Quality Control management within the FMCG sector.

  • Well-versed in quality systems and their implementation.

  • In-depth understanding of materials and their processing methods.

  • Trained in Six Sigma and Lean Management principles.

  • Certified Lead Auditor, with relevant training completed.

  • Proven track record of managing small teams effectively.

  • Knowledgeable about manufacturing systems for hygiene products.
