We have an exciting opportunity to join our Vinidex business as a Quality Control Technician.

Reporting to the Quality Co-Ordinator, as the Quality Control Technician you will evaluate the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations working in an industrial lab and adjacent manufacturing facility This is a dynamic, hands-on role involving a level of physical activity such as cutting and lifting pipe samples, pushing trolleys and assembling/preparing and testing test samples.
The role will operate under the site Enterprise Bargaining Agreement on a 12-hour dayshift, 7-day roster system.

- Perform routine process and product inspection/testing/verification in accordance with approved test plans, ensuring the quality of products before release to customers
- Approve release of product to customers
- Ensure non-conforming product is controlled properly
- Check for irregularities and defects using visual means and testing equipment
- Conduct basic checks/audits etc of the process of making pipe
- Assist with provision of training and assessment of employees involved in inspection and testing of our products
- Commitment to company safety and quality policies
- Being pro-active and responsive to non-compliant products and potential threats to quality through quarantine and prevention tactics
You will need to be comfortable in working 12-hour day shifts (6am – 6pm), 7-day roster with alternate weekends. This is a 42-hour nominal working week.
You will have an eye for detail, be able to work autonomously with effective time-management skills. Ideally, you will have experience in Quality Control or internal testing of products or have a passion for it. You will be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
- A basic knowledge of science or a technical trade background (preferred)
- Conduct activities in accordance with the established safety and quality guidelines and procedures
- Ability to adapt to change and work to given instructions
- Comfortable with hands-on work in a physically demanding environment
- Good literacy, grammar (written and oral) and numeracy skills
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication skills
- Driver’s License
- Current Forklift License
- Technical manufacturing experience and industry knowledge (preferred)
- Experience in conducting product testing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferred)
