The CBA technology unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and to do so is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security and business resilience for all divisions across CBA. It is also dedicated to delivering the best workplace technology experience for our over 53.000 people across CBA and focused on providing the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance the way we work together and empower our people to achieve more for our customers.
You’ll be part of the EDB (Everyday Banking) team, which oversees Everyday Product Crew, and you will be responsible for driving the delivery of features and compliance for Digitised Estates.
As a Quality Engineers, you’ll be embedded into a squad - a cross functional and are accountable for creating and executing manual and/or automated test cases to ensure that software applications meet business needs. You will bring your expertise in quality assurance, systems integration, risk management, solving business problems and optimising our systems. Also, you will contribute to strategic test automation initiatives to evolve testing automation practices and tools.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
Advocates for and contributes to implementing Quality Practices initiatives in the Squad and Crew.
Creates overarching testing artifacts (Test Strategy/Approach, Test Exit Report) aligned with minimum testing standards, ensuring regular review and sign-off.
Participates in defect triage meetings with Product Owners, following up until defect closure, and share bug status reports regularly with stakeholders.
Identifies and applies tools to accelerate quality, demonstrating analytical skills for designing effective test strategies aligned with project requirements.
Exhibits a strong problem-solving acumen, efficiently addressing issues throughout the testing process.
Possess proficiency in creating new automation frameworks in response to project demands.
Demonstrates expertise in data handling within the context of API testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Creates, executes, and maintains manual/automated functional tests in the designed framework, contributing to the creation and maintenance of the testing framework.
Works closely with everyone on project squads to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Involves in all other project activities such as increment planning, requirements analysis, deployment process, release management, etc.
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD implementation - Teamcity, Jenkins, Octopus.
Proficiency with a diverse set of tools, including Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured/Rest Sharp for API automation, JMeter/Loadrunner for performance testing and Git for version control.
Adept at utilizing various tools, libraries, and frameworks to conduct thorough API testing.
Deep understanding of API testing tools, frameworks, and libraries, with expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or other widely-used automation languages.
Proficient in formulating API automation strategies from conception to execution.
Extensive experience in testing within agile methodologies, seamlessly adapting to iterative development cycles.
Emphasis on collaboration, effective communication, and adherence to established QA processes as foundational expectations.
Competence in version control systems, parallel execution, test maintenance, and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development), complemented by robust programming and analytical capabilities.
Acute awareness of cloud environments, with experience integrating API tests into CI/CD pipelines.
