Quality Officer (Registered Nurse)

Yallambee has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Quality Officer (Registered Nurse) to join our clinical services team. The Quality Officer will join our senior clinical services team boasting an experienced Clinical Operations Manager and two Clinical Care Coordinators.

The successful applicant will apply a quality improvement framework and oversee and coordinate quality programs across all departments to ensure Yallambee delivers high quality care and services and compliance with accreditation standards.

Up to 76 hours per fortnight available

Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged Inc. is a community based Not-For-Profit service comprising of Margery Cole, residential aged care facility, and Independent Living Village. Yallambee is operated under the guidance of a voluntary Board of Directors and the Yallambee Board is committed to the provision of quality care, a home-like environment, the protection and promotion of residents' rights and to continuous improvement.

As a Quality Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of care provided to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes. 
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize clinical processes and procedures. 
  • Leading education and training programs to empower staff in delivering top-notch care. 
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with residents and their families.

Key Performance Areas include:

  • Ability to complete a quality improvement cycle and achieve quantitative outcomes
  • Ability to achieve continuous improvement outcomes 
  • Identify education opportunities and develop education calendars
  • Undertake training where applicable
  • In consultation with the Clinical Services Team assist with policy and procedure review and development

Key Criteria

  • Excellent understanding of continuous quality improvement cycles, gap and risk analysis including auditing processes
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in management, health or quality assurance is desirable
  • Expert knowledge of the Aged Care Accreditation process is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership/management skills
  • Must have a person-centred approach to care and service delivery
