About the opportunity
This is an exciting new role as the Quality team grows in scope and support across the organisation. The Quality Practice Improvement Manager assumes a pivotal role in ensuring organisational-wide excellence in quality systems, service delivery, and safety.
This role will take a strategic lead in guiding the team to support Practice Improvements across programs and services, with a blended focus on team support and projects.The Quality Practice Improvement Manager will oversee the quality stream within the Clinical and Quality team and collaborate closely with service delivery for effective quality support systems.
Additionally, the manager will lead responses to identified risks, foster collaboration with frontline services to support strong Quality Practice and clinical governance, and ensure all our work is person-centred, legislatively compliant and aligned to the highest standards of service. Regular communication and engagement strategies with diverse teams underscore their commitment to transparent reporting and continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to enhanced outcomes for participants and staff.
Key responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the Quality function within the Clinical and Quality team.
  • Oversee team performance, including staff development and performance management
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Quality and Safety systems, including Feedback Management and Incident Management
  • Coordinate external incident reporting requirements with the support of the quality team
  • Ensure integration of quality and safety perspectives into project and program development, implementation, and monitoring
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Board, Committees, Senior Leaders, and Executive Leadership Team
  • Uphold values of person-centred-ness, equal rights, and participation in systems and programs
  • Participate in the development, communication, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Quality Work Plan
  • Foster a team culture emphasising positive regard, appreciation for differing perspectives, responsiveness, professionalism, and accountability
  • Monitor budget performance, implement talent and performance development strategies, and deliver training as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or related field OR Tertiary qualification in a social science
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in mental health sector OR demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives within the human services sector
  • At least 2 years' experience in a management or quality focused role
  • Satisfactory pre-employment checks, including but not limited to National Police Records Check, Working with Children Check/Working with Vulnerable People etc.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Evidence of right to work within Australia
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion certificate
  • Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake regular travel
