An opportunity currently exists for a Quality Supervisor based at our Kensington Site on a full time, permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to supervise the day to day running of the laboratory, verification of test results, collating test results, and issuing internal testing reports and external reports to customers. To ensure all laboratory staff are trained to correct procedures, and all equipment is calibrated to give accurate results.
Key accountabilities include:
- Ensure products are within specification prior to release.
- Ensure production testing schedule is appropriate for each product specification.
- Ensure production & packing CCPs are performed accurately, and all tests are done to schedule and approved prior to release of product.
- Product is tested and if within specification, is released with 24 hours of production (working week).
- If not within specification, put in blocked stock for further review and status.
- Internal daily, weekly, monthly reports are issued in an accurate and timely manner.
- External customer reports and COAs are issued in an accurate and timely manner.
- Investigate customer complaints accurately, recommend corrective actions, and report on investigation and conclusion with corrective actions.
- Oversee Quality Systems, to ensure all procedures and practices are up to date, appropriate and working.
- Ensure site is prepared for customer and quality audits, in particular BRC, AIB, YUM.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Food Science or other related subjects preferred, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years food industry experience.
- Sound exposure and understanding of laboratory-based testing methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of HACCP, BRC and WQA requirements.
- Quality Systems / HACCP Training & Internal Auditing.
- The ability to work cross functionally with the business to promote continued awareness of adherence to required quality assurance and control processes.
- Proven working proficiency with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to implement continuous improvement.
- Ability to work as a team leader.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate problem solving and prioritisation.
- Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office, databases and document control systems).
