Form of workPHE Mining is searching for a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team of professionals on a fixed-term project contract basis. This role will be based at a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2 & 1 roster, 12-hour days. We encourage candidates willing to fly in and fly out (FIFO) of Brisbane on a direct charter flight to the project site to apply.
PHE is an Industrial Electrical Contractor that undertakes large-scale projects in regional and remote areas nationally. The role involves analysing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with key site personnel.
To be successful in this role you will have a methodical approach to your work and superb interpersonal skills.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Monitoring construction completion progress and preparing the Quantity Manhour Reports.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure good fiscal management.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
- Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
- Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying..
