We are currently seeking an experienced Quarry Manager for a pivotal leadership role who will manage all operations at our clients Quarry located in Riverina region, NSW. (This role will require relocation to the Riverina region)
You will manage the full cycle of operations and be accountable for the mentorship and management of all personnel and subcontractors onsite, ensuring that one of our clients most strategic regional assets is operated safely and efficiently. This position provides a unique opportunity to be a fundamental part of the operation’s future development.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day to day operation of the quarry in a safe an efficient manner
- Supervision of staff and contractors including monitoring of performance, encouraging development and continuous improvement and development of suitable work plans.
- Ensure compliance and improvement with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidelines, policies and procedures
- Operation of the quarry’s quality assurance system, safety management and environmental systems to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and ISO Standards
- Ensure compliance with, and communication of, all statutory HSE requirements
- Oversee contractors and ensuring compliance with all WH&S and environmental programs and procedures on projects and maintenance within position scope.
The ideal candidate will have
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role managing or supervising a quarry or mining operation.
- Hold or be eligible to obtain, a practising certificate (Tier 2) or Cert IV in Surface Extraction Operations (or equivalent) enabling the incumbent to obtain a Practicing Certificate for a Tier 2 Quarry
- Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders
- Experience in load & haul, crushing & screening is essential and experience in sand processing preferred
- Australian resident or holding a Visa allowing employment in Australia.
- Experience supervising staff and comply with all relevant legislation.
