Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Quarry Manager at Newman's Quarrying. This mid-level position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in the quarrying industry. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience and invaluable skills necessary for a successful career in quarry management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the quarry, including overseeing production activities, equipment maintenance, and material extraction. Learn to optimise workflows and maximise efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Prioritise safety at all times by adhering to company policies and procedures. Participate in safety training programs and proactively identify and address potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Environmental Stewardship: Support environmental management efforts by following best practices for land rehabilitation, dust suppression, and water management. Contribute to the implementation of sustainable quarrying practices to minimise environmental impact.
- Quality Control: Learn to monitor and maintain the quality of rock aggregates produced at the quarry. Assist in conducting regular testing and inspections to ensure compliance with industry specifications and customer requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with quarry supervisors and other team members to achieve production targets and operational goals. Communicate openly and professionally, fostering a positive work culture built on teamwork and mutual respect.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous Quarry experience.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Quarry Manager Practising Certificate and First Aid Certification.
- Genuine interest in the quarrying or mining industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of occupational health and safety principles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
