Chandler Macleod is working alongside our client, a leading supplier of high quality sandy quarry products, seeking a skilled and experienced Quarry Supervisor to oversee daily quarry operations out of their Coffs Harbour site.

About the role
As the Quarry Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing daily activities and ensuring the efficient, effective, and safe operation of the quarry. Ideally, successful candidates will have a Cert IV in Surface Extraction Operations, be in the process of completing their certification or other demonstrated industry experience. Experience-wise, the successful candidate will have a proven history of effectively managing quarry operations and personnel, as well as overseeing equipment and schedules.
About you
- Quarrying knowledge: Proven extensive understanding of quarrying processes, including surface extraction, with the necessary certifications to ensure safe and compliant operations. A strong understanding of industry trends and customer requirements will be highly advantageous.
- Operational skills: The ability to manage quarry operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and optimizing efficiency.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting: Proficient in identifying and addressing mechanical and electrical issues in quarry equipment, ensuring timely and proper maintenance.
- Leadership: Ability to communicate effectively & empathetically to various internal & external stakeholders. The ability to plan & organise operational activities for a streamlined operational process.
- Oversee and actively contribute to the daily operations of the quarry.
- Create, enforce, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Ensure all necessary license conditions are met and adhered to.
- Enhance operational knowledge by engaging in relevant industry events and opportunities.
- Implement and maintain a structured maintenance and repair schedule for the plant, as well as assisting with repairs and maintenance of the plant.
- Meet and exceed production targets while ensuring quality control in line with client specifications.
- Uphold environmental management standards in accordance with legislative requirements and our site-specific Environmental Management Plan.
