About The Role
- Supervising and coordinating daily quarry operations to ensure productivity targets are met, while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Providing leadership and guidance to quarry staff, including training and development initiatives to enhance skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitoring equipment performance and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure machinery operates efficiently and downtime is minimized.
- Managing inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to meet production demands and minimize wastage.
- Maintaining accurate records of production, inventory, maintenance activities, and safety incidents, and preparing reports for management as required.
- Managing blast schedules and drilling of blasts ensure a constant supply of rock to primary.
- Working off open pit designs to direct shot markups.
- 3 years of direct experience in quarrying.
- 3 years of demonstrated experience in open pit operations.
- 3 months experience in quarry shot fire coordination (highly advantageous)
- First Aid Certificate (BSBWHS413/414).
- Ability to connect, build rapport and also maintain resolve in difficult situations.
BGC’s Quarries, based at The Lakes along The Great Southern Highway, produce more than 1,500,000 tonnes of crushed aggregate a year, and supply the raw material for the required concrete, roof tiles, block paving products, road construction projects, civil engineering and large commercial projects.
