Quarry Supervisor

The role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our inclusive Hy-Tec team in the position of Quarry Supervisor.

This full-time permanent role is based at our Penrose Quarry located on the Hume Highway at Paddys River NSW.

As Quarry Supervisor, you will report directly to the Quarry Manager and play an integral role in the Quarry achieving its operational objectives, while ensuring site requirements for compliance and safety are maintained. This will be achieved by effectively planning quarrying operations, whilst also focusing on safely and the reduction of our environmental impact.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quarry Manager in maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards across site
• Supervise and monitor the site's sand plant, including crushing, screening, conveyor and mobile equipment
• Coordinate and supervise daily work tasks through toolbox meetings and monitoring of the day shift team
• Identify improvements that will reduce costs while ensuring all systems are followed and all work is conducted safely
• Identify, resource and coordinate planned maintenance while minimising impact on production
• Ensure monthly production and performance KPI’s are on target
• Maintain the Quarry’s quality systems to ensure customer requirements and satisfaction outcomes are met
• Promote a safe work culture through visible leadership and hazard and incident reporting

What you will need to succeed

• Proven experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing, mining, or production environment
• Cert IV or Diploma in Surface Extraction Operations advantageous
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Willingness to learn basic weighbridge operations
• Mobile plant experience/tickets desirable
