About you:

You are a qualified Radiographer confident to lead change and achieve outcomes through quality and service improvement activities underpinned by a strong understanding of quality systems, standards and procedures and contribution to the senior management team. You will have specialised clinical skill, knowledge, and expertise in general, mobile, emergency, and operating theatre radiography and an understanding of the role of general radiography within the provision of Medical Imaging Services to clients and the ability to provide authoritative counsel to stakeholders on matters falling within their given area of responsibility.

Your opportunity: 

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior radiographer to broaden their experience and provide leadership to the General Radiography Imaging team, ensuring the provision of a high quality, efficient and effective imaging service.  Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the leadership, training, workflow management and governance of the General Radiography Section (including emergency, theatre, and mobiles) at Cairns Hospital.  You will also provide professional governance and leadership for the general radiography workforce across the CHHHS including radiographers and licenced operators.  This position reports to the Director of Medical Imaging.

Your role:

• Provide independent specialist level knowledge and clinical skills in complex contemporary clinical practice standards with accountability for providing high-level specialist clinical services relating to general, mobile, emergency, and operating theatre radiography.
• Provide high-level professional judgement to problems of a significant scope within a complex and critical service.
• Provide governance of the general and mobile radiography service by monitoring fundamentals such as image quality, radiation safety and infection control as well as the education and supervision of students, junior staff, and remote operators.
• Provide specialist level clinical advice on Imaging Services to colleagues, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding professional standards and clinical service development.
