SalaryThe CHHHS Medical Imaging Service is based at the Cairns Hospital and incorporates a total of ten imaging sites. Cairns Hospital Medical Imaging, managed as a multi-disciplinary team, provides inpatient and outpatient services to the CHHHS and ongoing professional and technical support to the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service including Cooktown, Weipa and Thursday Island. About you:
In your new role you will…
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the areas of general, emergency, mobile and theatre radiography.
- Demonstrate knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in another modality.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and participate in a multidisciplinary team under the clinical practice supervision of more senior practitioners.
- Demonstrate ability to professionally respond to the needs of clients and patients.
- Provide evidence of continuous learning and/or professional development activities.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will work as a HP3 Shift Radiographer within the Medical Imaging facilities of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. You will deliver a high standard of general, emergency, theatre and mobile radiography and assist in the mentoring and training of junior staff, graduates and students. Skills in other imaging modalities, such as CT, would be considered advantageous. Operationally and professionally, you will report to the Director of Medical Imaging and clinically through modality Section Leaders.
About your role:
- Deliver quality Medical Imaging clinical services in general, emergency, mobile and theatre radiography within a multidisciplinary team.
- Undertake Medical Imaging duties in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with level of supervision decreasing with increasing experience.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures and clinical practice and participate in local quality and service improvement activities.
- Work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with other members of the multidisciplinary hospital team and with patients / clients.
- Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced Medical Imaging clinicians and students to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within Medical Imaging with the support of senior clinical staff.
